
Latest ChemKey Search Database Update File
For obtaining the [100,000 to 105,000] ChemKey Search
Update file (5,000 new references for the year 2005)
To obtain the latest software necessary for updating the ChemKey Search
Database from 100,000 to 105,000 references, Do the following:

For the Mac Operating System "Classic 9.0":

Download chemkey105.hqx
to your Mac

Convert the hqx (hexidecimal file)
into binary format by clicking on it to generate the CKUpdate.fm file

Make sure that the CKUpdate.fm file just created and the Chemkey.fp3 file are in the same directory. Open up your
100,000 version of the Chemkey database and under the "Script" menu, click
on "Update the database" button. The 5,000 references contained within
the CKUpdate.fm file will be read into your current Chemkey.fp3 file. When
this is done, exit the program and the next time you open it you will be
updated to 105,000 refs and ready to go.

For those of you who have acquired the more recently updated Chemkey.fp7 application for the "Mac OS X Operating System":

Download chemkey105OSX.hqx
to your Mac

Convert the hqx (hexidecimal file)
into binary format by clicking on it to generate the CKUpdate.fp7file

Make sure that the CKUpdate.fp7 file just created and the Chemkey.fp7 file are in the same directory. Open up your
100,000 version of the Chemkey database and under the "Script" menu, click
on "Update the database" button. The 5,000 references contained within
the CKUpdate.fp7 file will be read into your current Chemkey.fp7 file. When
this is done, exit the program and the next time you open it you will be
updated to 105,000 refs and ready to go.

For the IBM PC:

download the compressed, binarychemkey105.exe to your PC

Open up the self-extracting chemkey100.exe to create the CKUpdate.fm
file.

Make sure that the CKUpdate.fm file and the Chemkey.fp3 file are in the
same directory. Open up your 100,000 version of the Chemkey database and
under the "Script" menu, click on "Update the database" button. The 5,000
references contained within the CKUpdate.fm file will be read into your
current Chemkey.fp3 file. Of course, make sure the Chemkey.fp3 file is
NOT write protected by unclicking the "read only" box under "Properties"
of the file.When this is done, exit the program and the next time you open
it you will be updated to 105,000 refs and ready to go.
